The Priests of the Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic religious congregation dedicated to spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and rebuilding our world into God's kingdom of justice and love. Ministries include missionary work among the needy, Catholic education and the welfare of elderly priests and brothers.
With its iconic round chapel, Sacred Heart Monastery is considered a showpiece of the mid-century architectural movement. The structure was designed by architect Henry R. Slaby and completed in 1968.
The monastery houses the Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, North America's largest seminary specializing in the preparation of men over 30 for the priesthood. Catholic dioceses and religious orders throughout the U.S. and Canada choose Sacred Heart for the education of their future priests. The seminary also provides an English-as-a-Second-Language program for students from overseas and offers a Master of Arts program to prepare men and women for lay ecclesial ministry. Since 1932 we've remained dedicated to the formation of effective Church leaders with pastoral hearts.
