Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary between 1673 and 1675. Among the words spoken to her, she heard Jesus make several promises to those who would respond to the pleadings of His Heart and make an effort to return His love. She wrote them down and they have come to be known as the Twelve Promises.
The 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Promise 1
I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
Promise 2
I will establish peace in their families.
Promise 3
I will console them in their difficulties.
Promise 4
I will be their secure refuge during life, and more especially, at the hour of death.
Promise 5
I will shower down abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
Promise 6
Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
Promise 7
Lukewarm souls will become fervent.
Promise 8
Fervent souls will rise speedily to great perfection.
Promise 9
I will bless every place in which the picture of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honored.
Promise 10
I will give to Priests the power of touching the most hardened hearts.
Promise 11
Those who spread this devotion will have their names written in My Heart, and they will never be effaced.
Promise 12
I will grant the grace of final repentance to all those who will receive Communion on the first Friday, nine months consecutively.
