Giving Tuesday

Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,

I recently heard from Fr. Albert Lingwengwe, the Provincial Superior of the Priests of the Sacred Heart in Congo. He talked about their shelter that offers a safe haven for homeless children who are alone on the streets of Kisangani, one of Congo’s largest cities. For more than 20 years, the Priests of the Sacred Heart have provided needy boys and girls with food, medicine, clothing, an education and the knowledge of a loving God.

Tears came to my eyes as Fr. Albert Lingwengwe recounted how mothers, without means of support and without hope, are so desperate that they leave their newborns at our door. Their only prayer is for someone to give their babies the care they are unable to provide.

The Priests of the Sacred Heart, and YOU, have been the answer to their prayers. Our shelter for abandoned infants provides a safe home with nutritious meals, professional medical care, attention to socialization … and abundant love. It is only through your gifts and compassion that we are able to offer a home to these little ones.

Friends of our ministry have pledged to match every gift received by November 30, up to $5,000. Will you please help the children of Kisangani? Fr. Albert Lingwengwe is counting on you to share your love and give what you can to help them. Your gift of any size is a blessing!

Gratefully in the Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Father Dominic
