Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,
When I looked at our latest energy bill, I was stunned!
Then, I started to worry.
Here we are in the middle of a bitterly cold Wisconsin winter and have almost exhausted the heating funds set aside for facilities for our senior priests and seminarians.
How am I going to fully meet these needs while still caring for the poor and needy in our missions?
I cannot, in good conscience, reduce our aid to our foreign missions who depend on our help. Yet I must take good care of our retired religious and the men who live and study at the seminary.
Today, I am calling on my faith and – on the kindness of our Sacred Heart friends, like you – to help get through this bitterly cold winter.
Just $21,500 will help cover our staggering heating bills. Every gift will bring us closer to our goal. Your gift of $39 will help cover one day’s expenses. Your gift of $250 will help provide one week’s worth of comfort and warmth to men who have dedicated their lives to God’s work.
The heating bills are just a small portion of our energy costs for the monastery and seminary campus. These energy expenses are real, unavoidable and rising, and my concern to meet costs weighs heavily on my mind.
God bless you for your great love and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May your kindness be rewarded with His grace.
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
Father Dominic, SCJ
