New Novitiate House Opens in Wisconsin

New Novitiate House Opens in Wisconsin

With blessings from God and the generous support of thousands of faithful donors, the Priests of the Sacred Heart were able to purchase and renovate a new home for our novices in time to welcome the 2017-18 Novitiate class in August 2017.

To accommodate the growing number of men discerning to join our religious community, the time had come to establish a separate Novitiate House, where novices can spend their critical time of serious study about religious life and prayerful reflection prior to taking first vows.

In a matter of just a few months, a large residential home on a quiet property, 12 miles south of Sacred Heart Monastery, was purchased and redesigned to meet our needs.

Bedrooms were added.  Former living and recreation areas were converted into a library, a classroom and office space.  A chapel was added where a carport once stood.  The grounds were updated as well.

Fr. Byron Haaland, SCJ, serves as Novice Master.
