In early October, Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology celebrated its annual Multicultural Mass with traditions from five continents.
Hosted by priests and religious enrolled in the seminary’s ESL (English-as-a-Second-Language) program, the liturgy incorporated 10 languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Javanese, Japanese, Bamileke-Banunga (spoken in Cameroon) and Malagasy (spoken in Madagascar).
On October 6, the international celebration continued with one of the seminary’s most popular events of the fall – the annual Cultural Fair. ESL students from around the world created displays and shared food, beverages and traditions of their home cultures with seminarians and staff.
