Br. Frank gets the job done right!

Br. Frank gets the job done right!

Brother Frank Presto prefers to stay in the background. If you happen to see him at an SCJ gathering, he is normally in the back row, wearing his “unique” yellow jacket, usually making sure, that where ever he is, the event is running as planned. You see, Frank is a religious brother, one who has taken the all the vows as an SCJ. And it seems, his personal ministry is to “make sure things are done right.” Right now, he’s busy working to prepare for the election of new leadership for the Congregation in June.

Be it a ceremony for renewal of vows, or more solemnly, a funeral, Br. Frank is the SCJ who makes it happen. That is his part of ministry, but as Provincial Secretary it is so much more, working behind the scenes keeping a record of all meetings and implementing decisions made by the Provincial Council.

It’s serious work and Br. Frank is the right man for the job. What some may find tedious, he takes joy in his ministry “of doing things right” to keep the business of the Priests of the Sacred Heart running smoothly. He has served the Priests of the Sacred Heart in many areas, from parish ministry at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Texas, to running a social service agency in Eagle Butte. He even held two jobs at the same time, serving for a brief time as head of the Development Office in Hales Corners while at the same time as working as Provincial Secretary!

Frank is also a survivor. Fighting through cancer treatment and multiple surgeries, he has thrived despite the setbacks. He has the scars, but he is a beautiful soul. And while undergoing treatment, he was able to get a MBA from Marquette University.

So, the next time that there is a gathering of SCJs, look around for Br. Frank. He’ll be there, in the back of the room, making sure “things go right.”  Now, if we could only get him to replace that jacket . . .
