Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,
I like to think of Lent as a journey…
…a journey away from selfishness and sin, and towards a rediscovery of God in our daily lives. Upon this journey we are called to examine our conscience and our actions – and turn away from everything that gets in the way of our relationship with Him.
We answer this call with prayer, with sacrifice and with charity. We look to the Sacred Heart – and within ourselves – for the grace to follow the path to God more closely.
I invite you to share your special Lenten intentions with me this year. My fellow Priests of the Sacred Heart and I will remember you and your prayers at the altar during our Special Masses every Wednesday during Lent, as well as in our daily prayers and Masses.
At this time, I also ask that you please think of your brothers and sisters whose Lenten journeys are marked by poverty and suffering, and remember them with loving charity and mercy. Click here to send a sacrificial offering to help the poor and needy served by the Priests of the Sacred Heart, along with your prayer intentions.
Your generous support will provide shelter for the homeless, medical care for the sick, food for the starving, compassion for the elderly and the Gospel of Christ for those who do not know Him. With your help, together we will bring the Sacraments to those who hunger for God’s presence in their lives.
You are an important part of our ministries throughout the world. Believe me when I say that all our priests and brothers, as well as the thousands of children and adults who are served through our missions, are grateful to you for your generosity.
May your Lenten journey lead you to renewed faith and a deeper understanding of Christ. May you truly experience His unending love and the joy of His Resurrection on Easter Day.
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
