Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,
When I looked at our latest energy bill, I was stunned!
Then, I started to worry. How am I going to fully meet the needs of the poor and needy in our missions and also cover the cost of heating the facilities for our senior priests and seminarians?
Here we are in the middle of a bitterly cold Wisconsin winter, and we have almost exhausted the funds set aside for heating the residence at Sacred Heart and Monastery Lake and the Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology.
I cannot in good conscience reduce our aid to our foreign missions that depend on our help. Yet I must take good care of our retired priests and brothers and the men who live at the seminary.
However, I can call on my faith – and on the kindness of friends of the Sacred Heart to help us get through this winter.
Just $21,500 will help us cover our staggering heating bills, and every gift will bring us closer to this goal. Your gift of $36 helps cover one day’s expenses. Your gift of $250 helps provide one week’s worth of comfort and warmth to men who have dedicated their lives to God’s work. Click here to send your gift.
The heating bills are just a small portion of our energy costs for the monastery and seminary campus. These energy expenses are real, unavoidable and rising, and my concern to meet costs weighs heavily on my mind.
Please, give what you can. I’m praying that you will respond today so that I can meet the needs of our community and the people in the missions who rely on our support.
God bless you for your great love and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May He reward your kindness with His grace.
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
Father Dominic, SCJ
