Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,
Think back to your childhood. Do you remember how you felt as you got ready to start a new school year?
Even though it has been many years since my youth, I clearly remember the mixed feelings of excitement, hope and a little bit of fear. Will I like my teacher and my new class? Will the homework be difficult?
My mother, God bless her, could always tell when I was worried. She’d remind me to trust the Lord and have faith in my capabilities to succeed.
She was right, of course. Her blessing was exactly what I needed to hear.
Times change, but children are still children. When the school year is about to begin, many of them feel the same way I did all those years ago.
Please join the Priests of the Sacred Heart in our special Back-to-School Novena of Masses on the first nine days of September. Send me the names of the special children and teachers in your life, along with your prayer intentions, and they will be remembered by our priests and brothers.
Also, please consider a heartfelt gift at this time to help support the educational programs that are a core part of our mission work in the USA and overseas. Your kindness will mean so much to the children learning about God’s love. Make a gift today.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus reward you richly with His grace and peace, today and always!
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
Father Dominic, SCJ
P.S. Send me the names of the special children and teachers that you would like us to pray during our special Back to School Novena of Masses. Please send your names and intentions before August 31.
