Poor Schoolchildren in Vietnam are Counting on Us!
Dear Friend of the Sacred Heart,
Please find it in your heart to help save a school that brings hope to impoverished children and their families. Time is running out!
The Huong Tam School in Ho Chi Minh City, supported by the Priests of the Sacred Heart, provides free primary education to poor children who would otherwise be unable to attend school.
Their parents, migrants from the countryside who came to the city for the many low-paying factory jobs, cannot afford the cost of tuition required by other schools in the city. Without the Huong Tam School, these children would likely spend their days unattended and could easily fall prey to trouble.
Today, Huong Tam School is facing troubles of its own. A few years ago we learned that the lease on the school property would expire at the end of 2016. Acquiring land for a larger building to serve even more poor students in the same high-density neighborhood proved to be a long, arduous process. Fortunately, we were able to extend our lease until January 2018.
Now we have the funds to purchase land, but we still need to raise more than $500,000 for construction, furnishings, upkeep and salaries in order to open the new school in early 2018.
The children at Huong Tam School are counting on us…for their education, their safety and wellbeing. We cannot let them down!
If you are blessed with the ability to give even a small gift of support, it would be greatly appreciated. Click here to help, or call us at 1-866-268-0157.
Every gift is a gift of hope. Bless you for your generosity. You are one with us in God’s love.May the Sacred Heart of Jesus reward you with His favor. May you always walk in His light.
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
Father Dominic, SCJ
